Everything below is live now at hcrafairfax.org.
Know before you go
The home page now shows whether the pool is open right now. It follows the season schedule on its own, so during the summer it will tell you the pool is open until 8:00 pm on a Tuesday, and in January it will tell you when the season starts again.
The part we’re most pleased with: when the guards clear the pool for lightning, they can post that closure from the pool deck, along with when they expect to reopen. Instead of driving over to find out, check the home page. When the time passes, the website reopens the pool by itself.
The things you came for, in one tap
The top of the home page is a short list of the jobs people arrive wanting to do:
- Register pool passes for your household
- Pay the annual assessment through Cardinal Management
- Reserve the clubhouse for a party or a meeting
- Look up the guest policy, hours and pool rules
- Join a board meeting on Microsoft Teams
What else is new
The pool page now has both sets of summer hours side by side — the school-year hours and the longer hours once school lets out — plus guest passes, the rules and the Chase Club Sharks.
The clubhouse page has photographs of the rooms, the table and chair count, and the three steps to book it.
The next board meeting appears on the home page with a Teams link, and updates itself after each meeting.
The FAQ answers the questions we field most often: who needs a pass, what children can bring in the water, whether food is allowed, and how to get a resale package.
It works on a phone. The old site was difficult to read on a small screen, which is where most of you were reading it.
Nothing to re-do
Your resident portal account and your pool pass registration are untouched. If something looks wrong, or you cannot find what you came for, tell us at hcraboard@googlegroups.com. This is the first of our announcements, and new ones will appear on the home page as they are posted.
